Course Description: TISUS Preparation/Intensive Course
Our TISUS preparation intensive course is aimed at students who need to qualify for higher education at Swedish universities and colleges by passing the TISUS test (Test in Swedish for University Studies). The course offers comprehensive support to develop the language skills and academic abilities required to successfully pass the test.
The course is also ideal for Swedish students who have lived abroad for an extended period and plan to return to Sweden for university studies. It helps them regain and refine their Swedish skills to ensure they have the language proficiency needed for higher education in Sweden.
Target Group:
International students who wish to study at Swedish universities and colleges and need to pass the TISUS test to qualify.
Swedish students who have lived abroad and need to update or strengthen their Swedish skills to return to Sweden for higher studies.
Structure:
The course is carefully structured to provide participants with a strong foundation in both language and academic skills. It is tailored to each participant's individual needs and level to ensure everyone gets the support they need. The course consists of the following components:
Initial Diagnostic Test:
To assess participants' current level of Swedish language skills and identify their strengths and areas for improvement, a diagnostic test is conducted. This test helps the teacher tailor the instruction to effectively meet each student's specific needs.
Remote Instruction:
The course is offered entirely through remote instruction, allowing students to participate regardless of their location in the world. All lessons are conducted in real-time and held in small groups to guarantee interactivity, personal feedback, and opportunities for questions. Digital platforms are used to make the instruction accessible and easy to follow.
Speaking Practice:
Since the oral part of the TISUS test requires participants to express themselves clearly and fluently in Swedish, extensive speaking practice is included in the course. Through discussions, presentations, and oral exercises, students get the opportunity to practice Swedish in real-world contexts, while receiving feedback from the teacher.
Grammar and Language Precision:
Focus is placed on Swedish grammar and language structure. Students work on exercises that help them master the grammatical rules needed to pass both the written and oral parts of TISUS. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding complex sentence structures and using correct language in academic contexts.
Academic Writing:
Academic writing is a crucial part of the TISUS test. Therefore, a series of writing exercises are included to help participants develop their skills in writing well-structured, argumentative, and analytical texts in Swedish. Students receive regular feedback on their texts, focusing on improving content, structure, and linguistic accuracy.
Reading Comprehension and Text Analysis:
To prepare participants for the reading comprehension part of the TISUS test, we work with a range of texts, from academic articles to newspaper articles and nonfiction. Students learn to analyze and understand longer, complex texts and to discuss the content both orally and in writing.
Feedback and Course Materials:
Ongoing feedback is provided throughout the course, where each student receives detailed comments on their work and progress. The course also includes access to a course book with relevant exercises, preparation materials, and tips for the test.
Customized Instruction for Swedish Students Returning to Sweden:
For Swedish students who have lived abroad and are planning to return to Sweden, this course is the perfect way to ensure that their language and academic skills in Swedish are at the right level for university studies. The instruction takes into account students' previous knowledge and adapts to their specific needs to quickly resume their language development.
Duration:
The course runs for 10 weeks and consists of 10 lessons, with each lesson lasting 90 minutes. The course provides intensive training to prepare participants for all parts of the TISUS test within a limited time frame.
Price:
The cost of the course is 475€ per person, with a minimum of three participants per group.

After completing the course, participants will be well-prepared to take the TISUS test with confidence. They will have developed their skills in spoken and written Swedish, as well as strengthened their ability to read and understand academic texts.
